Really nice staff! Really decent hotel overall. The rooms are a bit small, but anyways... this is Paris!

The location is great and the hotel is easy to find. The lady we saw went we first arrived was very nice and kind.
I didn't sleep good, but it was mainly because it was not my bed and in a place I don't know.

This is not the first time I stay in this hotel, and I am always happy with it. I really like that I can leave my suitcase for a day, when we check out, not having to walk a day in Paris with it. It's a small but really good thing. marion m. (France-Rhone Alpes)

Very easy to gte there as the hotel is right by the gare de Lyon and close to the metro station. We loved the delicious and generous breakfast. Only drawback : the doors of the rooms are very heavy and loud and the walls not soundproofed enough (we can hear our neighbor cough). Very decent if you are a heavy sleeper. NASSER M. .... Answer from Hotel Helvetia Hello, I am the director of the hotel Helvetia and I am seeing this review as I am getting back from my vacation. I am truly surprised to read your negative feedback on all these points except for the wifi we do need to improve (which is being done) as we have trouble in the upper floors some times. About the cleanliness I dearly disagree with you: I check on a regular basis and the cleaning lady in charge if the top floor is a true fairy, placed on these floors to compensate for the lack of lift. About the price, I think I am the cheaper hotel compared to hotels from the same category in the neighborhood; I see that even the location isn't a positive point for you and here this is an objective data, we are right by the metro and 2 minutes from the train station, I am sorry you had such a negative feeling; thankfully our other client don't feel the same way. The rooms are quiet small but perfectly clean and comfortable for a cheap price. The double glazed windows are great and work fine, leaving the room quiet. But if you are planning in sleeping with the windows open, get earplugs. The elevator doesn't get you to the 6th floor, but it's not really a problem. Still avoid heavy and big luggage. Well, it's a small and cheap hotel right by the Gare de Lyon and very decent to sleep. It is worth the money and I'll stay there again. SERGE D. (France-Upper Normandy)

Very good overall, the only small issue for those staying on the 6th floor : the elevator stops on the 4th floor and it is hard to walk up or down the spiral staircase with luggage... Moreover, the elevator is tiny. The staff is nice and welcoming. Daniel D. (France-Languedoc Roussillon)

Nice hotel to help out for a night. The closeness with the gare de Lyon is really a great asset for this hotel!!!
On the other hand, soundproof not good enough (doors slamming when they are being closed... and also I think it’s really dangerous to get out of the elevator on half-stories, with stairs right by the exit and when someone is waiting behind the door.....
There... otherwise... it's all right

Small unpleasant smell in the room and annoying midges there. In Paris for an examination, I had chosen that hotel because of the wifi but it didn't work in my room, so I had to go and work in the lobby, which was not comfortable nor suitable... I am quite disappointed even if the staff was nice and the bed comfortable, I believe it still is overpriced for the very few service offered and working... suzel n. (France-Aquitaine)

Rooms not very big, clean bathrooms, pleasant overall, a little downside, the 'elevator'! It stops at the 4.5 floor when there are 6 floors, too bad; especially when we are getting old. About the elevator, watch out when stepping out of it at the 4.5 floor, it gives right onto the stairs!
About the rest, the staff is very pleasant and gives good advices.

Very well located (gare de Lyon). Direct access to the metro line 1 (about 10 yards between the hotel and the metro station) and also to the RER train A as well as SNCF trains. Rooms are a bit small but very well maintained. These reviews reflect the opinion of people who stayed at the hotel after booking their stays on hotelaparis.com and who accepted to answer a feedback questionnaire.
