Last May, when the list of the first Parisian Palaces (at least the ones getting the now official name), the absence of the hotel George V didn’t go unnoticed. And the mistake has just been repaired.
Therefore, the jury in charge of judging the hotel application for the rating Palace reexamined the case of the famous hotel located Avenue George V early September 2011. This reexamination led to fixing what many thought was unfair and not understandable and so the Palace name was given to the George V. What happened during the first examination for the George V not to be granted such a rating, and what changed the jury’s mind ? It would be interesting to know that and to see if this will influence the upcoming applications. The nomination as a palace for the George V makes it 5 Palaces in Paris and 9 throughout France.
